Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection Line Technician WDist/WWColl Superint

Statement of Position & Description

Responsible for keeping sewer mains & water lines flowing, including maintenance, repairs & replacement of broken water lines; install meters, flushing dead end lines, etc.

Hours/Schedule of Work Overtime Exempt?
8:00 am to 5:00 pm  M-F; 24hr on call NO

Position Functions

Perform maintenance to water lines and sewer collections mains and direct performance of crew on line projects.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Operate sewer flushing machine  

2.    Operate rodding machine

3.    Install water meters and act as backup for meter reader

4.    Install water lines and repair broken water lines

5.    Work weekends and 24 hour on-call

6.    Respond to customer problems

7.    Able to lift 80 lbs. unassisted

8.    And any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

1.     Some knowledge of water/wastewater systems

2.     Valid OK Drivers License/Able to obtain a CDL

3.     High School Diploma

4.     Able to obtain Class D DEQ license - Water and Wastewater

5.     Pre-employment physical & drug screen, and criminal history check  

Preferred Qualifications

1.   DEQ Operator D Water/Sewer license

2.   Vo-tech training

3.   2 yr experience operating backhoe

4.   2 yr experience in Wdist/WWcoll system

5.   Able to operate backhoe
