A Tradition of Excellence

The Clinton Police Department sets the standard for excellence in policing. Built on a foundation of honor, integrity and commitment, members of the department take great pride in providing exceptional police service to those who not only live and work in Clinton, but also to those who visit this outstanding community.

Policing in the City

The Department is comprised of 29 positions (19 sworn and 10 support staff) and serves more than 9,000 residents.

While crime trends continually change and evolve, Clinton has routinely recorded a lower crime rate than other area cities. Since no community is completely immune to crime, the Clinton Police Department engages in a number of programs and efforts to reduce crime and the fear of crime in our neighborhoods.

Crime & Disorder

Members of the Clinton Police Department work to reduce criminal activity and crime trends impacting the quality of life for citizens of Clinton. It is also the goal of officers to concentrate enforcement efforts on high crime areas, problem properties and prolific criminals operating in the City.

Traffic Safety

Officers work to reduce the number of traffic crashes in the City through education and enforcement activities.

Partnerships

Regionalization has been a focus for the department in an effort to combine resources and to address crime beyond the boundaries of the City. In recent years, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Custer County Sheriff, Washita County Sheriff, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol have enabled the Clinton Police Department and other neighboring jurisdictions to maximize resources in reducing crime in their respective jurisdictions.
